Empower School & Farm is an inspirational place. Buddy is an open-minded man with a kind heart. He taught me a wealth of knowledge about farming and community outreach. It was such an honor to be a part of this farm because they help the entire community and ask for nothing in return. Also, the diverse group of people working and living on the farm were incredibly welcoming.. during my tenure there I became a part of their family. This experience has opened my mind and my heart and

I am eternally grateful.

This was my first WWOOF experience, I could not have hoped for a better place to go. Mr. Walker and his wife, and every member of this farm are all wonderful people, I felt super welcomed and at home almost immediately! I have been staying there for 2 weeks, there were not only farm activities but also food distribution for the community, during the weekend we even went to the different beaches around Florida!! it has been an unforgettable time, built up lifelong relationships. They provided a great place to reside and fed me the best. It was a privilege to WWOOF with them.

They're seriously the best!
I initially decided to come to the Empower farm for about three weeks. Now I don't even know if I want to leave. I would have never imagined how this experience would be a pivotal point in my life. I am more than happy that this was my first experience. I have met people from US, Cuba, and even China. I am from Guatemala and I am sure that learning about this all cultures will prove to be useful in my career. My favorite part of this place is that everything you do here is meaningful. Every bed you flip, every weed you pull, and every seed you plant makes you feel that you are part of the growth of Empower. Mr. Walker donates 80% percent of the produce to local food banks which you will use for food distribution at least twice a month. If you are looking for a WWOOF host in Florida this is a must go and life-changing experience.

I am grateful for this place and every single person
I met here.

Our stay at the Empower school and learning center was unforgettable. We had much fun staying there. Buddy and his wife Kim are two really friendly persons. Buddy is a real passionate farmer with a huge knowledge about agriculture.
The Empower Farm includes 3 beautiful gardens with fruits and vegetables like strawberries, lettuce or broccoli. If you interested in "how to grow organically" or how you get a good soil, you have to stay at this farm. As I already imagined, Buddys knowledge about agriculture is incredible and he loves to talk about his passion and share his knowledge. He is a visionary and planning a lot of new projects, you can be part of it!
We also met a group of really friendly and open-minded people (students and teachers of the school) from different countries and states. We had a great time with them together. We cooked together, learned some spanish and teached them some german words.

In our free time we had the chance to explore
by boat a small lake.

My experiences at Empower Farm has exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed living with the team, working the farm and cooking together. Everything is planned for individual daily tasks and communicated well to volunteers. I can’t thank Buddy and his team enough for what they are doing to provide knowledge and wonderful experiences to Woofers and the community. Currently this farm is providing more than 90% of their produces to the community. I wish I had more than a week to stay here.

If I ever have a chance to go back to Florida
I will definitely visit this farm again.
